Job summary

Mapfre is seeking a Technical Analyst II to drive data-driven decisions across actuarial, pricing and analytics teams in Massachusetts. You will build and validate large datasets, write complex SQL, and partner with stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and actionable insights.

You will collaborate with IT and business units, mentor junior colleagues, and contribute to data governance initiatives while supporting ongoing process improvements and reporting needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; 3+ years in P&C Insurance.
• Actuarial, pricing, reserving, claims or predictive modeling experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and coding expertise.
• Advanced SQL development with joins, CTEs, aggregations, window functions.
• Relational DB/data warehouse knowledge.
• PowerBI experience.
• Git/DevOps familiarity.
• Experience implementing methodologies or process improvements.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and perform analyses.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain countrywide datasets across lines of business and systems.
• Develop, validate, and ensure data integrity for business decisions.
• Optimize processes for data accuracy, timeliness, and consistency.
• Apply insurance domain knowledge to datasets for market pricing analytics.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Advanced Analytics, IT and stakeholders.
• Partner with senior management to drive action from analyses.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, views, and procedures.
• Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency.
• Make decisions across scenarios by interpreting guidelines.
• Provide training and mentorship to less experienced teammates.
• Communicate effectively with business partners and leadership.
• Retrieve, manipulate, and analyze large datasets efficiently.
• Support data governance and metadata management initiatives.
