Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking an Actuarial Associate to build actuarial expertise while supporting reserve valuation, forecasting, and pricing activities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to healthcare programs and business decisions.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s (or advanced) degree, 0–2 years of experience, and are enrolled in the actuarial student program pursuing the ASA designation. This role supports hybrid work arrangements and professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree is required.
• 0–2 years of experience in a related field.
• Enrolled in the actuarial student program and pursuing ASA designation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial, statistical and mathematical data and perform actuarial calculations.
• Assist in pricing, reserves and cash flow projections.
• Assist in rate studies to determine rate adequacy.
• Conduct actuarial research, experience studies and statistical analyses.
• Provide support to senior analysts or actuaries as needed.
• Retrieve and validate data for rate filings and models; assist in model enhancements.
• Distribute reports and respond to inquiries.
• Investigate trends and anomalies.
• Support Enterprise Risk Management and corporate projects.
