Job summary

McNeil & Company, Inc. in New York is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to support actuaries by preparing valuation reports and performing unit tests on the valuation system. This role involves complex queries in MS Access and collaboration with Penflex colleagues on client projects.

The analyst will develop actuarial models, assist with assumptions and plan funding, and continue actuarial education to advance toward ASA/CERA credentials. A base salary is provided with incentive eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance or related quantitative field.
• 0-3 years of pension actuarial background.
• Knowledge of Defined Benefit pension plans and pertinent legislation.
• Minimum of 3 actuarial exams passed, or 10 years relevant quantitative work experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual actuarial valuation reports.
• Perform unit-testing to ensure correctness of codes in actuarial valuation system.
• Handle technical administrative duties and routine client communications.
• Develop/maintain actuarial models for valuations of Defined Benefit plans.
• Assist in developing actuarial assumptions and plan funding techniques.
• Analyze cost drivers and year-over-year trends in Defined Benefit plans.
