Job summary

Openly is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to support new product development and profitability reviews of current offerings. The role leverages modern technology to automate and expand pricing management within a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

The candidate should have 2–4 years in insurance pricing, plus SQL and Python skills, and be comfortable working in ambiguity. Strong communication and homeowners/auto pricing experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in insurance pricing, preferably with personal lines pricing experience.
• Progress made toward ACAS/FCAS designations (preferably 3+ exams).
• Strong technical (SQL) and analytical skills, capable of developing quantitative analyses through data manipulation.
• Familiarity with Python.
• Strong communication skills.
• Homeowners and/or Auto insurance pricing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive state expansion by assisting in developing rating models and other customer-facing models; support DOI inquiries.
• Develop and expand product analytics capabilities to enrich understanding of product profitability; operationalize insights.
• Assist in producing formal actuarial deliverables (rate indications, amendments to rating plans, reinsurance analysis, loss modeling).
• Design and enhance analytical frameworks and capabilities in partnership with the Senior Research Actuary.
• Develop processes to integrate analytical frameworks into day-to-day operations; outputs include reporting, anomaly detection, and forecasting tools.
• Continuously test and adopt new tools to improve actuarial capabilities at scale.
