Job summary

Ally Financial seeks a Senior Actuarial Analyst to develop and support a pricing and reserving framework for its insurance business. You will independently lead projects from inception to completion, perform advanced analytics, and clearly communicate results to Management and Senior Leadership.

The role may involve mentoring a junior actuarial analyst and requires programming skills in SQL, R, and Python. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with Detroit as a base, and remote options

Qualifications

• ACAS or near ACAS; 5+ Casualty Actuarial Society exams required.
• 4+ years of experience in actuarial roles; exposure to advanced ratemaking and/or reserving a plus.
• Programming skills in SQL/R/Python.
• Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis.
• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support a robust pricing and/or reserving framework for insurance business.
• Lead, develop, and communicate advanced analytics to Management and Senior Leadership.
• Foster innovation within the team and across the broader organization.
• Work collaboratively in product development, pricing, and/or reserving processes.
• Develop rate and/or reserve indications, segmentation analyses, and predictive models.
• Support development of themselves and other associates in an actuarial capacity.
