Job summary

Alpha Home a Waters Community in Indianapolis, Indiana, is seeking an experienced Activity Director to lead the activities program in a skilled nursing setting. You will plan, organize, develop and direct an engaging activities calendar designed to meet residents' physical, mental and psychosocial well-being.

The role requires coordinating with all disciplines, facilitating group activities, transporting residents to events, and ensuring compliance with privacy and residents' rights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred for this role.
• Minimum 3 years in Activities Department in a Skilled Nursing Facility, with at least 2 as Activity Director.

Responsibilities

• Planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the Activity Department in accordance with current standards and policies.
• Facilitate group activities
• Encourage activity involvement and chart attendance
• Assist in keeping activity supplies clean and organized
• Assist with 1 on 1 activities, transport residents to and from activities
• Assist with outings and special events and other assigned duties
• Collaborates with all disciplines to provide best patient centered treatment and care.
• Compliance with confidentiality, HIPAA and Federal Residents Rights.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the Activity Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that an on-going program of activities is designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of each resident.
• Facilitate group activities
• Encourage activity involvement and chart attendance
• Assist in keeping activity supplies clean and organized
• Assist with 1 on 1 activities, transport residents to and from activities
• Assist with outings and special events and other assigned duties
• Collaborates with all disciplines to provide best patient centered treatment and care.

Qualifications/Requirements:
