Job summary

Graceful Living Assisted Living LLC in Carrboro, NC seeks an Activity Director to plan and implement a comprehensive activity program that supports residents' physical, emotional, intellectual, and social well-being in an assisted living setting.

You will lead monthly calendars, coordinate group and individual activities, manage the budget, supervise volunteers, and ensure compliance with regulations while promoting independence and a high quality of life for residents.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Gerontology, or related field preferred.
• Certification as an ADC or eligibility to obtain certification within a specified time frame.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in recreational programming, preferably in a senior care or healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a monthly activity calendar with a variety of engaging programs.
• Coordinate and lead group and individual activities based on residents’ interests and capabilities.
• Ensure programs support residents’ independence, dignity, and well-being.
• Communicate regularly with residents and families to gather feedback and encourage participation.
• Maintain all documentation and records of resident participation and program effectiveness.
• Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure activities align with residents’ health needs and restrictions.
• Manage activity budget, supplies, and equipment.
• Recruit, train, and supervise activity assistants and volunteers.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations related to assisted living facilities and resident care.
