Job description

The Activity Coordinator

Responsible for organizing, scheduling, promoting, facilitating, and directing activities and excursions for Traditions Memory Care to enhance residents’ independence and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Memory Care Director in creating a creative and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the secured Traditions area, promoting resident participation through high‑quality activities, excursions, special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, clubs, games, arts and creativity opportunities, educational classes, and more.
• Communicate effectively and display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, families, visitors, co‑workers, and supervisors.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Able to drive community vehicles.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer one year of experience coordinating or teaching activities with seniors.
• Requires current Class C driver license; preference for Class B to transport residents.
• Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.).
• May be required to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and wear face coverings or other PPE as per regulatory guidance to protect the health and safety of team members and residents.
