Job Title: Activities Coordinator, Inclusion Centers (ACIC)
Position Purpose: To provide vocational and/or skills training to persons with developmental disabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Education and Work Experience:
Must be at least 18 years old. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. Experience planning and implementing social/leisure activities. Familiarity with developmental disabilities; understanding of community-based and work programs; awareness of principles of normalization and development; effective writing skills, data charting, tracking client progress, and generating reports accurately and timely. Ability to work effectively with staff, clients, and the community. Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Driving and License Requirements:
Valid California Driver’s License with a good driving record. May be required to drive a 9-passenger van.
Criminal Record Clearance:
Department of Justice/FBI fingerprint clearance prior to hire.
Additional Requirements:
Obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR certification. Pass a post-job offer physical exam, including a negative TB test if working in a licensed facility. Certain locations may require drug screening prior to hire and periodically thereafter.
COVID-19 vaccination required (SVS complies with Title VII and California’s FEHA).
Work Environment: Moderate noise level, with occasional higher noise levels; may be exposed to heat, cold, dust, fumes, and weather conditions.
Physical Requirements: Regularly talk and hear; use hands for handling objects; stand and walk up to two hours; stoop, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds; manipulate wheelchairs and positioning non-ambulatory clients; vision abilities include close, color, and focus adjustment.
Authority and Supervisory Capacity: Provides client supervision but does not supervise SVS staff.
Access to Sensitive Information: Expected to be familiar with client records and files.
