Job summary

The Northbridge Companies is seeking an Activity Assistant to join our Engagement & Activity Team. You will work with the Engagement Director to plan and run activities that support residents’ physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being, helping keep the community vibrant.

This role requires a high school diploma, a people-first attitude, creativity, reliability, and flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in recreation, gerontology is a plus.
• Love connecting with seniors and naturally get along with them.
• Be creative and able to plan and lead activities for diverse interests and abilities.
• Organize tasks well and pay attention to details.
• Communicate effectively and be kind.
• Flexible to work different shifts, including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run a variety of activities with the Engagement Director, including exercise programs, art projects, trips, and events.
• Connect with residents to tailor activities that are meaningful and enjoyable.
• Plan trips outside the community and coordinate logistics to ensure safety.
• Create a warm, inclusive environment where residents can build friendships.
• Document resident participation and feedback to improve programs.
• Share new ideas to keep programs engaging and aligned with residents' interests.

Activity Assistant

Full-time with availability for 8 hour shifts within 7am-7:30pm. Must be willing and able to drive our 12 passenger van for outings and appointments. Must be available every other Saturday and Sunday.

Part-time 9am-5pm, including every other Saturday and Sunday

Activity Assistant Job Summary

As an Activity Assistant, you'll work with the Engagement Director to make our residents' lives more enjoyable with fun and engaging activities. Your role involves creating experiences that cater to their physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being, making our community vibrant and lively.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Engagement Director to plan and run a variety of activities, like exercise programs, interesting sessions, art projects, trips, spiritual gatherings, and events with speakers and music.
• Connect with residents personally, understanding what they like and need to make sure activities are enjoyable and meaningful.
• Help plan trips outside the community, organize details, and make sure residents are safe and happy.
• Create a warm and inclusive environment where residents can make friends and discover new interests.
• Keep records of resident participation and feedback to help improve our programs.
• Share creative ideas to keep our programs exciting and in line with what seniors like.

Qualifications:

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent. Some classes in recreation, gerontology, or related areas are a plus.
