Job summary

Northbridge Communities in Westbrook, ME seeks two Activity Assistants to create engaging experiences for residents, enhancing physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being and contributing to a vibrant community.

You will work with the Engagement Director to design and deliver activities, connect with residents, and help coordinate trips while maintaining safety and inclusivity. Two positions available with diverse schedule options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some coursework in recreation, gerontology, or related areas is a plus.
• Enjoy connecting with seniors and naturally get along with them.
• Be creative and able to plan and lead activities for varied interests and abilities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and kindness.
• Flexible to work different shifts, including weekends and evenings.
• Know basic computer skills for documenting and communicating.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run a variety of activities (exercise programs, sessions, art projects, trips, gatherings) with the Engagement Director.
• Connect with residents to tailor activities to their interests and needs.
• Help plan trips outside the community and ensure resident safety and enjoyment.
• Create a warm, inclusive environment where residents can make friends and discover new interests.
• Record resident participation and feedback and share ideas to keep programs engaging.

Activity Assistant Job Summary

As an Activity Assistant, you'll work with the Engagement Director to make our residents' lives more enjoyable with fun and engaging activities. Your role involves creating experiences that cater to their physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being, making our community vibrant and lively.
