Job summary

Lakeside Health & Rehab in Richmond, VA is seeking an enthusiastic Activities Assistant to join our team and help plan engaging programs that promote social interaction and resident well-being.

You will work with the Activities Director to create daily recreational activities, games, crafts, music, and special events, adapting to residents' interests and needs. This is a full-time on-site role in skilled nursing.

• Ability to motivate, encourage, and engage residents with different interests and abilities.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Previous experience in recreation, activities, assisted living, skilled nursing, or long-term care is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Bring the Fun: Assist with planning, organizing, and leading daily recreational activities, games, crafts, music, and special events.
• Create Meaningful Connections: Build positive relationships with residents and encourage participation in activities they enjoy.
• Celebrate Special Moments: Help coordinate holiday celebrations, birthday parties, themed events, and other memorable experiences.
• Encourage Resident Engagement: Adapt activities to accommodate residents' individual interests, abilities, and needs.
• Promote Social Interaction: Help residents stay connected, active, and engaged through meaningful group and individual activities.
• Provide Hands-On Support: Assist residents with transportation to and from scheduled activities.
• Be a Team Player: Collaborate with the Activities Director, nursing staff, and other departments to create a welcoming and enjoyable environment.
