Heights Care and Rehab is seeking an energetic Activities Assistant to bring life, purpose, and engagement to our residents in a skilled nursing environment. The role supports the Activities Director by planning and leading group and one-on-one activities that enhance residents’ quality of life.

Qualifications

• Experience in activities, recreation, healthcare, or customer service preferred.
• Ability to plan and lead group and one-on-one activities.
• Creativity in activity planning and program development.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct daily activities such as games, crafts, music, and exercise programs.
• Encourage resident participation and honor individual preferences.
• Provide one-on-one engagement for residents who miss group activities.
• Help decorate for holidays and maintain a home-like environment.
• Document participation and resident response per facility policy.
• Transport residents safely to activities.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to align activities with goals.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Activities Assistant supports the implementation of engaging recreational, social, and therapeutic programming for residents in a skilled nursing environment. This role works closely with the Activities Director to plan, organize, and facilitate group and one-on-one activities that enhance residents’ quality of life.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in planning and conducting daily activities including games, crafts, music, exercise programs, outings, and special events

Encourage resident participation while honoring individual preferences and abilities

Provide one-on-one engagement for residents who are unable or unwilling to attend group programming

Help decorate for holidays and themed events to maintain a vibrant, home-like environment

Document participation and resident response in accordance with facility policy

Transport residents safely to and from activities

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure programming supports resident goals
