Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience working in a social or recreational program in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Experience in planning and directing activities for elderly residents, and organizing special programs for residents, families, and staff.
- Good verbal communication skills, including giving directions in a pleasant and understandable manner.
- Ability to display enthusiasm and a positive attitude in promoting activities and enlisting support from facility team members.
- Ability to evaluate residents' needs and adjust programming accordingly.
- Respond professionally and respectfully to residents, family, or team concerns, and escalate issues to the Administrator as needed.
- Represent the community positively and professionally.
- Current and valid state driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Essential Functions:
- Assist the Resident Experience Director (RED) in planning and providing activities that support residents’ quality of life, meeting state requirements for social, physical, spiritual, and mental health.
- Follow and implement programs from the Calendar of Events created by the RED, based on resident profiles to foster an active, social, and creative environment.
- Maintain updated social histories and Life Profiles of each resident.
- Support the “Better Health for a Better Self” program to meet residents’ health and wellness needs.
- Meet new residents and families upon arrival, inform them about the activity program, and encourage participation.
- Maintain inventory of activity supplies and equipment, submitting monthly needs to the RED.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down holiday events as requested.
- Operate and drive the community bus for outings, outreach, or other programming away from the community.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
