Responsibilities

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity Assistant to join our team at Evercare of Granite City in Granite City, IL. As an Activity Assistant, you will contribute to the overall well-being and engagement of our residents by planning and implementing a variety of social, recreational, and therapeutic activities. Responsibilities:

• Plan and coordinate activities, such as arts and crafts, games, outings, and social events, in collaboration with the Activities Coordinator and other team members
• Facilitate activities to promote resident engagement, cognitive stimulation, and socialization
• Assists with the planning and implementation of special events, such as birthday parties and holiday celebrations
• Participates in staff meetings and contributes to the development of activity programs and services
• Builds and maintains strong relationships with residents, families, and staff members
• Maintains accurate records of activities and resident participation
• Collaborates with other departments, such as therapy and wellness, to provide a holistic approach to care

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field (such as gerontology, recreation therapy, or social work) an asset
• Work a revolving schedule a few days during the week and at least one weekend day as needed. Part time hours.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to off-site activities
