Job summary

Hireology is seeking an Activity Assistant to join our skilled nursing team. You will help create a vibrant environment by planning and delivering engaging programs that honor each resident’s interests and needs.

You’ll support the Activity Director with daily programming, documentation, and event planning, while fostering a warm, inclusive atmosphere for all residents and families.

This role emphasizes compassion, creativity, and teamwork in a supportive, community-focused setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Activity certification (preferred).
• Experience in long-term care (preferred).
• Experience leading recreational or social programs within the last five years (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and leading daily activity programs such as arts & crafts, games, music, exercise, educational sessions, religious services, and community outings
• Encourage residents to participate in group and one-on-one activities
• Help maintain accurate activity documentation (with training)
• Support the Activity Director with supply ordering, receipts, and monthly activity calendars
• Maintain resident preference lists, precautions, and activity limitations
• Help facilitate Resident Council meetings when needed
• Participate in planning special events involving residents, families, staff, and the community
• Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all residents

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
