Job summary

Oak Park Place in Dubuque, IA is seeking an Activity Assistant to plan, organize, and implement recreational and social events that enhance residents' well-being and promote regular socialization and physical activity.

Under the direction of the Activity Director, you will develop a well-balanced activity program, lead arts, crafts, and games, encourage participation, and collaborate with all departments to meet resident needs.

Qualifications

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Experience working with the elderly preferred.
• Experience in activities/recreation roles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing, planning, and executing a balanced activity program.
• Lead and promote interest in recreational activities such as arts, crafts, and games.
• Generate positivity and encourage resident participation.
• Collaborate with all departments to meet resident needs.
• Assess needs and interests to plan activities accordingly.

The Activity Assistant job responsibilities include planing, organizing, and implementing recreational and social events to enhance the well-being of residents with a goal of promoting regular socialization and physical activity.

Key Responsibilities

• Working under the direction of the Activity Director you will help organize, plan, and execute a well-balanced activity program
• Organize, lead, and promote interest in recreational activities, such as arts, crafts, and games
• Generate positivity and encourage resident participation
• Work with all departments to ensure resident needs are being met
• Assess the needs and interests of individuals and groups and plan activities accordingly

Requirements

• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
• Previous experience working with the elderly preferred
• Previous experience in an activity’s role preferred
