Job summary

Magnolia Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Activities Assistant to support resident programs and events on site. The role focuses on helping residents with grooming, assessing activity suitability, and coordinating volunteers and councils to enhance activities and outreach.

The position emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, and a passion for geriatrics, with opportunities to contribute to fundraising and resident life through hands-on event support and outings.

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Aide required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with grooming before activities.
• Assess resident capabilities for activities and group programs.
• Recruit and maintain volunteers for activity programs.
• Support the Resident and Family Councils and escalate concerns to the Administrator and staff.
• Assist with all charitable fundraising activities as needed.
• Sort and deliver resident mail and newspapers daily.
• Perform daily activities, special events, and in-room visits.
• Assist with resident outings.

Job duties

The Activities Assistant will primarily be responsible for assisting with resident activities. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist residents with grooming needs prior to attending activities.
• Assess resident capabilities concerning activities and group programs.
• Assist in recruiting and maintaining volunteers to assist in activity programs.
• Assist the Resident and Family Councils, and bring their concerns to the attention of the Administrator and other appropriate staff.
• Assist with all charitable fundraising activities as needed.
• Responsible for seeing that the resident mail and newspapers are sorted and delivered to the residents each day.
• Perform daily activities, special events, and in-room visits.
• Assist with resident outings.
