Job summary

Belmont Terrace Nursing seeks an Activities Assistant to support residents in daily programs and events. You will help with grooming, assess activity suitability, recruit volunteers, and coordinate outings, while ensuring compassionate, elder-focused care.

Strong communication, creativity, and organizational skills are essential as you collaborate with staff and residents to enhance well-being and meaningful participation in community activities at our Kentucky facility.

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Aide preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with grooming before activities.
• Assess resident capabilities for activities and group programs.
• Assist in recruiting and maintaining volunteers for activity programs.
• Assist the Resident and Family Councils, and bring concerns to the Administrator.
• Assist with charitable fundraising activities as needed.
• Sort and deliver resident mail and newspapers daily.
• Perform daily activities, special events, and in-room visits.
• Assist with resident outings.

Job Duties:

• Assist residents with grooming needs prior to attending activities.

• Assess resident capabilities concerning activities and group programs.

• Assist in recruiting and maintaining volunteers to assist in activity programs.

• Assist the Resident and Family Councils, and bring their concerns to the attention of the Administrator and other appropriate staff.

• Assist with all charitable fundraising activities as needed.

• Responsible for seeing that the resident mail and newspapers are sorted and delivered to the residents each day.

• Perform daily activities, special events, and in-room visits.

• Assist with resident outings.

Requirements:

• Certified Nurse Aide preferred.

• Minimum of a high school diploma or completed a GED program preferred.
