Job summary

Martin-County-Health-Care-Facility is seeking an Activities Assistant on a PRN schedule to support geriatric residents with engaging activities.

Duties include assisting residents with grooming, assessing abilities for activities, recruiting volunteers, aiding Resident and Family Councils, handling fundraising, and coordinating outings and events.

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Aide preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with grooming before activities.
• Assess resident capabilities for activities and group programs.
• Recruit and maintain volunteers for activity programs.
• Assist Resident and Family Councils and relay concerns to the Administrator and other staff.
• Assist with charitable fundraising activities as needed.
• Sort and deliver resident mail and newspapers daily.
• Plan and perform daily activities, special events, and in-room visits.
• Assist with resident outings.

Job Duties:

The Activities Assistant will primarily be responsible for assisting with resident activities. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist residents with grooming needs prior to attending activities.
• Assess resident capabilities concerning activities and group programs.
• Assist in recruiting and maintaining volunteers to assist in activity programs.
• Assist the Resident and Family Councils, and bring their concerns to the attention of the Administrator and other appropriate staff.
• Assist with all charitable fundraising activities as needed.
• Responsible for seeing that the resident mail and newspapers are sorted and delivered to the residents each day.
• Perform daily activities, special events, and in-room visits.
• Assist with resident outings.

Requirements:

• Certified Nurse Aide preferred.
• Minimum of a high school diploma or completed a GED program preferred.
