We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Activity Aide to join our team at Santa Anita Convalescent Hospital. As an Activity Aide, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and engaging environment for our residents, providing recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs that cater to their interests and needs.
The Activity Aide is responsible for assisting in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs for our residents in a Skilled Nursing setting. This role requires a strong understanding of the needs of older adults and the ability to create a warm and welcoming environment.
Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs for residents
Coordinate and lead group and one-to-one activities, such as games, arts and crafts, and outings
Develop and maintain schedules for activities, distribute monthly activity calendars to residents, and post changes to calendar as needed
Document resident participation and progress in activity programs
Assist residents who are confined to bed by visiting with them, writing letters, running errands, and making appointments
Provide adapted materials for impaired residents to ensure maximum participation in activities
Encourage residents to participate in religious activities and provide materials and resources as needed
Participate in discharge planning and provide recommendations for post-hospital care
Report accidents, incidents, and concerns to supervisors and complete necessary paperwork
Adhere to state and federal regulations, company policies, and HIPAA confidentiality standards
Maintain a safe and clean work area
Participate in OSHA and CDC in-service training programs for hazardous communication, TB management, and bloodborne pathogens standard
Stay updated on new regulations, best practices, and internal policies and procedures
1-2 years' experience in a related position, in a healthcare environment preferred
Aptitude for and/or some training in arts and crafts
Bilingual in Chinese/Mandarin preferred
High school diploma or equivalent desirable
Competitive hourly rate: $18.39
