Job summary

Colorow Care Center seeks an Activities Specialist to assist in planning, implementing and evaluating recreational and social programs for residents in alignment with care plans.

You will lead group or one-to-one activities, adapt spaces, and collaborate with the Activity Director to schedule events while upholding residents' rights and dignity. Prior healthcare exposure and arts & crafts interest are valued, with generous bonuses and growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years in a healthcare activity program preferred.
• Aptitude for and/or training in arts and crafts.
• High school diploma or equivalent desirable.
• Commitment to person-centered care with dignity, respect, compassion and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Respect and uphold residents' personal and property rights, including knocking before entering.
• Comply with company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Conduct group or one-to-one activity programs as scheduled.
• Move and arrange equipment to assure activity areas are ready for scheduled activity.
• Assist residents to move to and from activities as needed.
• Return all activity materials to their proper place and maintain a tidy, pleasant atmosphere in the activity room.
• Assist Activity Director in developing schedule for activities and updating calendars per regulations.
• Follow resident care plans when providing daily activities.

POSITION SUMMARY

Assists in the planning, implementation and evaluation of recreational social, intellectual emotional and spiritual programs in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Respects and upholds all residents' personal and property rights whenever carrying out duties, including knocking before entering a resident's room.
• Complies with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Assists and/or conducts assigned group or one-to-one activity programs according to calendar.
• Moves and arranges equipment/supplies to assure that activity areas are ready for scheduled activity.
• Assists residents move to and from activity programs as needed.
• Is responsible for returning all activity department materials to their proper place in a timely manner and maintaining a tidy, pleasant atmosphere in activity room.
• Assists Activity Director in developing schedule for activities, distributes monthly activity calendars to residents and posts changes to calendar according to state and federal regulations.
• Follows resident care plan in providing daily activities for residents.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years' experience in related position, in healthcare environment preferred
• Aptitude for and/or some training in arts and crafts required
• High school diploma or equivalent desirable
