Job summary

Wellsprings Care Center in Englewood, CO is seeking an Activities Specialist to plan, implement, and evaluate recreational and social programs for residents in accordance with care plans.

You will lead group and one-to-one activities, respect residents’ rights, maintain a tidy activity area, and collaborate with the Activity Director to schedule monthly calendars. 1-2 years healthcare experience and arts/crafts aptitude preferred; high school diploma desirable.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years' experience in related position in healthcare preferred.
• Aptitude for and/or training in arts and crafts.

Responsibilities

• Respect residents' rights; knock before entering rooms.
• Comply with all company and departmental policies.
• Lead and assist group or one-to-one activity programs.
• Set up activity areas and move equipment as scheduled.
• Help residents move to and from activities.
• Return materials to proper places and maintain a pleasant atmosphere.
• Assist Activity Director in scheduling activities and monthly calendars.
• Follow care plans in daily activities.

POSITION SUMMARY

Assists in the planning, implementation and evaluation of recreational social, intellectual emotional and spiritual programs in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Respects and upholds all residents' personal and property rights whenever carrying out duties, including knocking before entering a resident's room.
• Complies with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Assists and/or conducts assigned group or one-to-one activity programs according to calendar.
• Moves and arranges equipment/supplies to assure that activity areas are ready for scheduled activity.
• Assists residents move to and from activity programs as needed.
• Is responsible for returning all activity department materials to their proper place in a timely manner and maintaining a tidy, pleasant atmosphere in activity room.
• Assists Activity Director in developing schedule for activities, distributes monthly activity calendars to residents and posts changes to calendar according to state and federal regulations.
• Follows resident care plan in providing daily activities for residents.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years' experience in related position, in healthcare environment preferred
• Aptitude for and/or some training in arts and crafts required
• High school diploma or equivalent desirable
