Job summary

River Terrace Retirement Community in Bluffton, IN is seeking an experienced Activities Director to lead activity programs in our skilled nursing facility.

The role plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates activities to meet residents' emotional, recreational, social, and spiritual needs, working with nursing staff and families.

Responsibilities include scheduling events, assessing resident interests, documenting participation, and promoting social interaction, independence, and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• State-certified Activity Director with long-term care experience preferred, or previous work experience under a Certified Activity Consultant desirable.
• NCCAP certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification through an Activity Director course.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• COVID-19 vaccination required unless an approved exemption is presented upon hiring.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule activities for residents well in advance (movies, parties, games, crafts, field trips).
• Identify and monitor residents' spiritual, social, recreational, and emotional needs through routine interactions.
• Encourage residents to develop physical and educational skills through participation in activities.
• Coordinate with nursing staff to align activity selections with physicians' orders.
• Coordinate resident council meetings monthly and document activities in PCC.
