Job summary

Stratford Commons Memory Care Community seeks an Activities Director to plan and implement engaging activity programs that meet residents' social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational and physical needs according to the care plan.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors, an energetic personality, and strong communication skills; a Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or related area with licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or related area; should be licensed or registered nationally or by the State.
• Minimum of one year of experience as an Activities Director in a LTC/SNF/AL/MC setting.
• Two years of experience conducting social and recreational programs in the past five years, one of which must be full-time in a resident activities program in a health care setting.
• Accreditation as a Certified Activities Director preferred.
• Professional image in appearance and behavior; Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement a program of activity and leisure pursuits designed to meet the social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational and physical needs and interests of residents in accordance with the comprehensive resident care plan.
