Job summary

Juniper Ridge Resort is seeking an Activity Director to orchestrate a wide range of resort activities, community programs, and special events. The role requires strong event management, coordination with vendors, and hands-on leadership of volunteers and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, schedule, and oversee a full calendar of resort activities and special events.
  • Coordinate entertainment, concerts, dances, tribute shows, social events, fundraisers, parties, classes, educational programs, and community gatherings.
  • Arrange event details including dates, times, locations, entertainment, equipment, food, refreshments, volunteers, tickets, and setup.
  • Coordinate with outside entertainers, vendors, food trucks, service providers, and other organizations.
  • Oversee events from initial planning through completion and cleanup.
  • Handle last-minute changes, cancellations, scheduling conflicts, and unexpected event needs.
  • Develop and maintain a diverse activity calendar designed to meet the interests of the resort community.
  • Coordinate recurring activities, clubs, classes, games, social gatherings, fitness programs, educational programs, and special-interest groups.
  • Work directly with club leaders and residents to establish and maintain activities.
  • Coordinate meetings with club leaders and collect updated information regarding boards, memberships, schedules, and activities.
  • Help residents establish new activities and programs when requested.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for residents regarding activities and events.
  • Coordinate meal-related events, fundraisers, luncheons, buffets, food truck events, and special meals.
  • Work with kitchen staff, volunteers, vendors, and outside food providers.
  • Assist with menu planning, quantities, pricing, scheduling, and event coordination.
  • Coordinate large-scale food events requiring significant advance planning and preparation.
  • Help ensure meals and food-related events run efficiently and meet the neei:ls of the community.
  • Create and coordinate promotional materials for resort events.
  • Prepare flyers, posters, calendars, tickets, announcements, signage, and other promotional materials.
  • Maintain accurate event information and make changes when schedules or details change.
  • Promote events throughout the resort and communicate important information to residents.
  • Coordinate event registration, ticket sales, sign-ups, and attendance information when applicable.
  • Develop and manage ticketed events.
  • Coordinate ticket pricing, ticket preparation, numbering, distribution, sales, and event admission.
  • Maintain attendance and participation information.
  • Assist with financial tracking and reconciliation associated with events and fundraisers.
  • Coordinate check-in procedures and event entry.
  • Recruit, organize, schedule, and communicate with volunteers.
  • Coordinate volunteer assignments for activities, meals, events, and special projects.
  • Manage and coordinate the schedules and responsibilities of sixworkcampers, including assigning duties, organizing schedules, and ensuring adequate coverage for resort activities and operational needs.
  • Adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate events, absences, changing needs, and special projects.
  • Provide direction and coordination to volunteers and work campers during events and activities.
  • Maintain a comprehensive activity calendar and continually update it as changes occur.
  • Coordinate multiple events and activities simultaneously.
  • Communicate with residents, club leaders, entertainers, vendors, volunteers, work campers, management, and outside organizations.
  • Maintain records, schedules, contact information, event details, and other administrative information.
  • Attend and coordinate meetings related to resort activities and community programs.
  • Handle a high volume of phone calls, questions, requests, and day-to-day problem solving.
  • Respond to changing circumstances and manage competing priorities.
  • Overall Scope of the Position: The Activity Director serves as a central coordinator for the resort's social, recreational, and community activities.
