Job summary

NHC Place St. Peters Memory Care, part of National HealthCare Corporation, is seeking an Activities Director to lead and enhance a meaningful activities program for residents.

We are looking for an energetic, organized professional with a passion for seniors, memory care, and wellness programming. You will supervise staff, coordinate assessments and care plans, and collaborate with other departments to support community outreach.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or two years of college or two years of experience in long term care related to activities and memory care.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Activities team and develop a well-rounded program for all residents, including evenings and weekends.
• Timely completion of assessments, care plans and paperwork.
• Facilitate monthly Resident Council meetings.
• Supervise activities aides with training, scheduling and evaluations.
• Manage volunteer program with recruitment, scheduling and recognition.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal guidelines for programming.
• Partner with departments to support marketing in the community.

The ideal candidate must be energetic, highly organized and have knowledge of the domains of wellness as it relates to programming in long term care. Your goal would be to provide daily meaningful activities that enhance the quality of life for our residents.

Position Highlights

• Lead the Activities team and provide support, developing and implementing a well-rounded Activities program for all patients to include evenings and weekends, celebrating holidays and big events (When this virus is over)
• Timely completion of assessments, care plans and associated paperwork
• Facilitating monthly Resident Council meetings
• Supervising activities assistants to include training, scheduling, evaluation, etc.
• Managing the center volunteer program to include recruitment, training, scheduling and recognition
• Ensuring that all local, State and Federal guidelines regarding programming are met
• Partnering with other departments to support marketing efforts in the community
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university OR
Satisfactory completion of two years of college OR
Two years of experience in long term care as it relates to activities and memory care
