Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily activity programs for residents in both short-term rehab and long-term care
Develop creative recreational, social, educational, and therapeutic activities that meet residents’ physical, emotional, and cognitive needs
Create and maintain monthly activity calendars and special event programming
Lead group activities, holiday celebrations, outings, and community engagement opportunities
Encourage resident participation and build positive relationships with residents and families
Complete activity assessments and maintain required documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
Supervise activity staff and volunteers as needed
Collaborate with nursing, therapy, social services, and other departments to support resident well-being
Ensure activity supplies, equipment, and common areas are organized and well maintained
Previous experience in activities, recreation, or therapeutic programming in a skilled nursing facility or healthcare setting preferred
Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic personality
Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to activities programming preferred
Activity Director certification or eligibility preferred
