Job summary

Accela Post Acute Care at Hamilton is seeking an experienced Activities Director to lead our resident life and enrichment programs. You will design engaging activities that bring joy, purpose, and connection to residents in long-term care and rehab settings, while coordinating with nursing and therapy teams.

We value organized, outgoing leaders who can create monthly calendars, supervise staff and volunteers, and ensure compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in activities, recreation, or therapeutic programming in a skilled nursing facility or healthcare setting preferred
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic personality
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to activities programming preferred
• Activity Director certification or eligibility preferred

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily activity programs for residents in both short-term rehab and long-term care
• Develop creative recreational, social, educational, and therapeutic activities that meet residents’ physical, emotional, and cognitive needs
• Create and maintain monthly activity calendars and special event programming
• Lead group activities, holiday celebrations, outings, and community engagement opportunities
• Encourage resident participation and build positive relationships with residents and families
• Complete activity assessments and maintain required documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Supervise activity staff and volunteers as needed
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, social services, and other departments to support resident well-being
• Ensure activity supplies, equipment, and common areas are organized and well maintained
