Job summary

YAD Management seeks an Activities Director to lead the facility's activities program, ensuring programs meet Residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.

The role oversees staff, policy development, and regulatory compliance while developing new programs to stay aligned with industry standards. Candidates should have LTC activity director experience and ADC eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified or eligible for ADC certification by NCACAP.
• Experience as Activity Director in a long-term care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Activities Department operations, staff supervision, policy development, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop new activity programs to meet trends and standards.
• Manage the department within budgetary guidelines.
• Observe and document Resident attendance, participation, and behavior changes.
• Attend care plan meetings and provide Resident needs observations.
• Greet new Residents and assist with admissions orientation.
• Perform administrative tasks such as charting, care planning, and reports; complete MDS portions on time.
• Assist with recruitment and selection of Activity staff.

Summary/Objective

In keeping with our organization’s goal of improving the lives of the Residents we serve, the Director of Activities is responsible for the planning, development and overall operation of the Activities Department which implements and directs activity programs that meet the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of Residents.

Essential Functions

• 1. Responsible for the overall operations of the facility’s Activity Department which includes supervision of staff, development and implementation of departmental policy and procedures, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, local regulations.
• 2. Regularly develops new programs to meet new trends and industry standards.
• 3. Responsible for operating the Activities department within budgetary guidelines and limitations.
• 4. Observe and report Resident’s attendance, participation, and behavior changes by documenting and charting.
• 5. Participates in the care planning process by attending care plan meetings, providing specific information and observations of the Resident’s needs, preferences and report any behavioral changes.
• 6. Meet and great all new Residents and residents upon arrival to the facility.

• 8. Performs administrative tasks such as charting, care planning, reports and etc. Completes assigned MDS portions accurately and on time.
• 9. Assists with the recruitment and selection of Activity staff.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position may have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma/Equivalent
• Be certified or eligible for certification as an activity director certified (ADC) by the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals
• Activity Director Experience in a Long Term Care Setting
