Job summary

Laurel Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Elizabeth City, NC is seeking an Activities Director to lead and grow our Activities Department. You will plan, develop, and oversee programs that meet residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs, while ensuring quality care and compliance.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, developing programs, managing budget, attending care plan meetings, and supporting recruitment.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent required.
• ADC certification or eligibility by NCCAP required.
• Experience as Activity Director in a long-term care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Activities Department, supervise staff, and ensure policy compliance.
• Develop new programs to meet industry standards.
• Manage department within budgetary guidelines.
• Document residents' attendance, participation, and behavior changes.
• Participate in care planning meetings and report residents' needs.
• Welcome new residents to the facility.
• Perform administrative tasks including charting and MDS portions.

NOW HIRING: Activities Director

Summary/Objective

In keeping with our organization’s goal of improving the lives of the Residents we serve, the Director of Activities is responsible for the planning, development and overall operation of the Activities Department which implements and directs activity programs that meet the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of Residents.

Essential Functions

• 1. Responsible for the overall operations of the facility’s Activity Department which includes supervision of staff, development and implementation of departmental policy and procedures, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, local regulations.
• 2. Regularly develops new programs to meet new trends and industry standards.
• 3. Responsible for operating the Activities department within budgetary guidelines and limitations.
• 4. Observe and report Resident’s attendance, participation, and behavior changes by documenting and charting.
• 5. Participates in the care planning process by attending care plan meetings, providing specific information and observations of the Resident’s needs, preferences and report any behavioral changes.
• 6. Meet and great all new Residents and residents upon arrival to the facility.
• 8. Performs administrative tasks such as charting, care planning, reports and etc. Completes assigned MDS portions accurately and on time.
• 9. Assists with the recruitment and selection of Activity staff.

Qualifications:

• Highschool Diploma/Equivalent
• Be certified or eligible for certification as an activity directorcertified (ADC)by the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals
• Activity Director Experience in a Long Term Care Setting
