Job summary

St Elizabeth Rehab & Nursing, a Vierra Communities property in Baltimore, is seeking an Activities Assistant to join our caring team. The role supports the Activities Director, coordinates monthly calendars, and helps residents participate in activities with a focus on physical, social, and mental well-being.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, with generous benefits and opportunities to contribute to a warm, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activities Director in creating a monthly calendar of activities written in large print and posted in a prominent location that is visible to residents and visitors.
• Ensure that a copy of the monthly calendar of activities is placed in a prominent spot in each resident’s room.
• Interview residents or family members to obtain activity preferences.
• Coordinate and assist residents in getting to activity locations within the facility.
• Assist in conducting scheduled activities to promote physical, social, and mental well-being of residents.
• Document resident activity program attendance and ensure charted progress notes are informative and descriptive.
• Observe resident mood, behavior, and involvement and report changes to the Activities Director.
• Involve residents and families in planning activities.
• Assist with in-room activities for one-on-one visits.
• Coordinate offsite field trips and transportation needs.
• Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure daily activities are performed without interruption.
• Assist with Resident/Family Council meetings as indicated.
