Vierra Falls Church Health & Rehabilitation in Falls Church, VA, is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Activities Director in planning monthly calendars and coordinating resident activities across the facility.

The role includes assisting with transportation, in-room programs, and events to promote residents’ physical, social, and mental well-being. Requires a high school diploma and offers generous pay, PTO, and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activities Director in creating a monthly calendar of activities written in large print and posted in a prominent location that is visible to residents and visitors.
• Ensure that a copy of the monthly calendar of activities is placed in a prominent spot in each resident’s room.
• Interview residents or family members to obtain activity preferences.
• Coordinate and assist residents in getting to activity locations within the facility.
• Assist in conducting scheduled activities to promote the physical, social, and mental well-being of residents.
• Document resident activity program attendance and ensure that all charted activity progress notes are informative and descriptive of the services provided.
• Observe resident mood, behavior, and level of involvement in facility activities and report changes or concerns to the Activities Director.
• Involve residents and families in planning activities when possible.
• Assist with conducting in-room activities for one-on-one visits.
• Coordinate and arrange offsite field trips and transportation needs when necessary.
• Coordinate activities with other departments in a courteous and timely manner to ensure daily activities can be performed without interruption.
• Assist with Resident/Family Council meetings as indicated.
