Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Activity Coordinator preferred.
• Two years’ experience working with developmentally disabled adults, including planning and conducting activities.
• Valid driver’s license with car registration and vehicle insurance.
• All state-required training and certification completed in mandated timeframes.
• Reliable, responsible, and caring nature.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to identify and implement meaningful group activities with focus on the preferences of individuals served.
• Provide daily instruction and guidance to staff regarding activity delivery methods and techniques as well as at staff meetings.
• Determine and implement necessary precautions in exercising responsibility for the care and safety of individuals served.
• Maintain curriculum binders for each classroom to ensure that varied and age-appropriate activities are planned and conducted for all individuals served.
