Job summary

Sevita is seeking a Caregiver in Moreno Valley, CA to provide support and strategies for individuals with developmental disabilities to thrive in their community.

You will work with a dedicated clinical team to plan, deliver, and supervise engaging activities, while ensuring safety and adherence to training requirements. This role emphasizes collaboration, ongoing education, and compassionate care.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two years’ experience working with developmentally disabled adults including planning and conducting activities.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing and insurance if transporting participants.
  • All state required training and certification completed within mandated timeframes.
  • Certification in Activity Coordinator preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct group and individual recreation activities according to participants’ needs, capabilities, and interests.
  • Ensure safety by implementing required precautions for individuals served.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to plan meaningful activities aligned with preferences.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to staff on activity delivery during daily work and staff meetings.
  • Maintain curriculum binders for classrooms, ensuring varied and age-appropriate activities are planned.
  • Attend required continuing education courses.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Overview

As a Caregiver, you’ll provide assistance and strategies to individuals with developmental disabilities to help them live well in their community and environment, working alongside a dedicated team of clinical staff and supportive supervisors.

Essential Job Functions
  • Works directly with individuals with developmental disabilities by conducting group and individual recreation activities according to individual needs, capabilities, and interests.
  • Determines and implements necessary precautions in exercising responsibility for the care and safety of individuals served.
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to identify and implement meaningful group activities with focus on emphasizing the preferences of individuals served.
  • Provides instruction and guidance to staff regarding activity delivery methods and techniques daily as well as at staff meetings.
  • Maintains and continuously amends curriculum binders for each classroom to ensure that varied and age appropriate activities are planned and conducted for individuals served.
  • Attends continuing education courses as required.
  • Performs other related duties and activities as required.

Education And Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
