Sevita’s Just Family Center in Catlettsburg, KY, is hiring an Activities Coordinator for PRN/Relief roles. The role focuses on creating engaging recreational activities for adults with developmental disabilities while promoting independence and community involvement.

The position requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and 2 years of relevant experience. Pay is $12/hour with opportunities for full-time, part-time, or as-needed shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two (2) years of experience working with developmentally disabled adults.
• Valid driver’s license with current vehicle registration and proof of insurance.
• All state-required training and certifications must be completed within mandated timeframes.
• Reliable, responsible, and caring nature.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and conduct group and individual recreational activities based on individuals’ interests and needs.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop meaningful activity programs.
• Provide instruction to staff on activity delivery methods and participation techniques.
• Maintain curriculum binders and activity schedules for all individuals served.
• Assist with community outings, events, and opportunities that encourage social interaction.
• Ensure safety and well-being by following required precautions and supervision guidelines.
• Maintain documentation related to activities, participation, and progress notes.
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment for individuals receiving services.

Job description

Just Family Center, a part of the Sevita family, provides home and community-based services including day programs for elders with complex medical or rehabilitative needs, attendant care and case management. This allows seniors to obtain quality healthcare while remaining active and involved in the community and continuing to live in their own homes. Our programs are staffed with qualified, experienced licensed nurses and caregivers who are trained to provide individual assistance to each person we serve.

Schedule: PRN/Relief | Mon-Fri
Pay: $12 an hour

Position Overview

• Plan, coordinate, and conduct group and individual recreational activities based on each individual’s interests, abilities, and needs
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement meaningful activity programs that reflect individual preferences and goals
• Provide instruction and guidance to staff regarding activity delivery methods, participation techniques, and program implementation
• Maintain curriculum binders and activity schedules to ensure age-appropriate, engaging, and varied activities are available for all individuals served
• Assist with community outings, special events, and recreational opportunities that encourage social interaction and independence
• Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals served by following all required precautions and supervision guidelines
• Maintain accurate documentation related to activities, participation, and progress notes
• Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive environment for individuals receiving services

Requirements – Please Read Carefully

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Certification in Activity Coordinator preferred
• Two (2) years of experience working with developmentally disabled adults, including planning and conducting activities for this population
• Valid driver’s license in good standing with current vehicle registration and proof of insurance required
• All state-required training and certifications must be completed within mandated timeframes
