Our community is looking for a Part-time Celebrations / Activities Coordinator to join our team.
The Activities Coordinator assists in the development and oversight of resident services, including planning and coordinating opportunities for residents that promote health, wellbeing, engagement, and growth.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and conducting programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual opportunities for residents.
- Encourage residents to participate in activities and assist in their engagement.
- Assess, plan, and manage facilitation of a comprehensive activities program utilizing team members and volunteers.
- Attend all community planned functions and coordinate events from beginning to end, including set-up, running, and breakdown.
- Plan appropriate programs for holidays and special events, including coordinating holiday decorations.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure availability of equipment and supplies for activities and events.
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate activities for mixed groups (assisted living and Memory Care).
- Facilitate scheduled and specialized activities, especially within the Memory Care program.
- Maintain activity areas in an orderly manner.
- Assist in maintaining an inventory of activity supplies, games, and craft materials.
- Manage daily care of any animals or plants involved in the activities program, if applicable.
- Prepare and organize a calendar of events, submit for final approval, and distribute accordingly.
- Distribute the community newsletter and meet with new residents to introduce the program.
- Assist the Director in leading wellness programs.
- Organize and supervise volunteer staff.
- Address resident groups and other groups on topics of interest.
- Maintain a database and prepare reports on resident assessments, participation, and satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
- One to three years experience preferred in assisted living, long-term care, or exposure to the senior population.
