CLASSIFICATION: Hourly Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Administrative Operations Coordinator

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Plans, coordinates, and directs the group activity program for older adults (age 55+)
  2. Coordinate support groups, etc. with Information & Referral Coordinator
  3. Is alert to conditions that may present a hazard to participants, staff and visitors
  4. Secures sponsorships for a variety of events, both large and small
  5. Submit articles and activity calendar for the monthly agency newsletter; post events on social media platforms; able to create fliers for events using relevant software, etc.
  6. Works within budgetary guidelines and maintains a detailed, up-to-date record of donations and expenses
  7. Maintains organized and detailed records of all activities hosted for reporting purposes
  8. Keeps professional matters confidential
  9. Maintains Activity equipment and supplies; keeping all areas of responsibility clean and organized
  10. Prepares any area for the planned activity, then cleans the area following the activity, returning it to normal conditions
  11. Abides by the established policies of the agency
  12. Recruits, trains, and supervises any Activity Volunteer
  13. Reports to the Administrative Operations Coordinator and CCCOA Executive Director on functions of the Activity Program
  14. Other duties as assigned by supervisor

ADDITIONAL SPECIFICATIONS:

The Activity Coordinator must demonstrate applied imagination, creativity, and attuned interpersonal skills to collaborate with a variety of people. He/she should also exhibit a spirit of cooperation, be an able leader, and exhibit a pleasant, friendly demeanor. He/she must have the capacity to be self-directed and possess flexibility of work schedule. He/she must have no prejudices concerning card playing, dancing, music, raffles, bingo, etc. The Activity Coordinator must enjoy working with older adults and planning activities directed at a variety of interests.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a minimum of the following:

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. A minimum of two years working in an Activity Program (for Senior Citizens preferred)
  3. Experience in fundraising, networking, basic marketing, and social media platforms
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; as well as superb critical thinking, organizational and time management skills
  5. Ability to lift 50 pounds
  6. Knowledge of the Crawford County area
  7. A background free of any disqualifying criminal offenses as determined by fingerprint check through the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation
  8. A current & valid Ohio Driver's license, current automobile insurance, and have access to reliable transportation to travel throughout Crawford County
