Job summary

Juniper Village at the Spearly Center, a 130-bed skilled nursing facility, is hiring for a role that supports daily activity programs for residents. You will help create, plan, and implement the Connections activities to promote leisure, physical, and mental well-being.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or higher required or preferred
  • Background in healthcare or service-related settings preferred
  • Must be at least 16 with a valid driver's license
  • Knowledge of aging physiology and psychology

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating, planning and implementing the Connections activity program
  • Plan and post a monthly calendar of events and a monthly newsletter
  • Coordinate transportation for residents as needed
  • Collaborate with Wellness Associates to run activity programs

Skills

Education

Role:

Assists in the creation, planning and implementation of the Connections program - the daily activities for our residents. You will ensure the maximum levels of resident leisure contentment, as well as physical, mental, and psychological well being.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating of the Connections activity program for the community.

Assist in the planning and posting of a monthly calendar of events, monthly newsletter and coordination of special events and programs.

Assist in arranging and at times render transportation for the residents.

Works closely with Wellness Associates for the implementation of Connections activity programs.

Requirements:

High School Diploma, a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Therapeutic Recreation, Psychology, Gerontology, or other related field (Preferred)

Previous experience in healthcare or service related setting (Preferred)

Must be at least 16 years old with a valid state driver's license (Required)

Knowledge of the physiology and psychology of the older adult.

Juniper Village at the Spearly Center is a skilled nursing facility specializing in mental and behavioral health so besides the typical Alzheimer's/dementia diagnosis, we cater to residents with schizophrenia, bipolar, TBI, failed suicide attempts, and more. We are looking for those who care and value and able to assist are residents in need.
