Lewisville Estates Senior Living Community is currently seeking an Activities Assistant to assists the Activities Director in designing, creating, initiating, facilitating and coordinating a wide variety of multi-level recreational and educational activities for the residents of the facility.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists in planning and coordinating resident activities.
  • Encourages resident participation in programs and activities.
  • Escorts residents on activities away from the property as assigned.
  • Assists with the registration of residents for trips and programs.
  • Maintains necessary activity supplies, which may include outside purchasing.
  • Assists in the surveying and interviewing of residents to determine interests, talents and resident satisfaction.
  • Maintains general observation of residents and shares appropriate information with staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in planning and directing activities for elderly residents, and in planning and organizing special programs for residents, families and staff.
  • Good verbal communication skills, including ability to give directions to others in a manner that is pleasant and easily understood.
  • Ability to display enthusiasm and a positive attitude in promoting activities, and in enlisting the support of facility team members for activity programming.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
