Job summary

Gateway Park Senior Living is seeking an Activities Assistant to bring energy and compassion to our elderly residents. You will help plan and run engaging programs, support residents with a variety of leisure activities, and assist with decorating and special event planning.

Ideal candidates have experience with seniors, especially those with dementia, and demonstrate strong organization and kindness. A high school diploma and First Aid certification are required, with weekend availability

Qualifications

  • Experience with seniors who have dementia or in a senior retirement community.
  • Great organization, planning, and engaging/re-directing seniors
  • Great energy and kindness
  • Operate a VCR, DVD, and stereo system.
  • High School diploma or equivalent certificate
  • Must possess valid First Aid Certification

Responsibilities

  • Support the mission, vision, and culture of the organization.
  • Perform activities on schedule while maintaining regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Promote residents’ attendance at events and activities
  • Assist with planning and implementing events and activities.
  • Assist with group activities, sing-a-longs, and exercise classes
  • Conduct activity programs as assigned.
  • Assist residents with gardening projects.
  • Assist with decorations for holidays and special occasions.

Essential Functions:
