Hayden Grove of St. Anthony seeks an energetic Activities Assistant to support activity programming in Independent, Assisted Living and Memory Care. This interim role involves planning, leading and promoting engaging activities for seniors, with a focus on connection and energy.

Responsibilities include coordinating calendars, developing programs, supervising volunteers, and assisting with transportation as needed. 1+ year experience and valid driver’s license preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year activities experience in senior care settings.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to obtain Class C license within 90 days, if needed.
• Proficiency with Windows and basic MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, promotion, and leading events.
• Assess residents’ recreational and social needs.
• Develop monthly Activity Calendar of Events.
• Lead group, small group, and one-on-one activities.
• Suggest speakers or visitors to enhance programs.
• Coordinate transportation for events and accompany residents.
• Coordinate volunteers and maintain bus cleanliness.
• Report maintenance needs promptly.

Hayden Grove of St. Anthony is looking for an energetic, friendly Activities Assistant to join our team! This interim position is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting with seniors, creating engaging experiences, and bringing energy and positivity to our community.

Job Objective(s):

Responsible to assist Director of Life Enrichment in planning and leading a variety of activity programs designed to meet the resident’s social, physical, mental, emotional, and sensory needs in an Independent, Assisted Living and Memory Care setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year activities experience in independent retirement, assisted living, adult day services or long-term care facility serving a senior population.
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
• Currently possess a Class C license, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to use basic Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) computer programs.
• Creativity in developing and planning activity programs.
• Group leadership and interpersonal skills to lead one on one, small, and large group activities.
• Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in a resident’s best interest.
• Strong organizational skills
• Good work ethic
• Able to read, write, spell, do basic math, speak and understand English

Job Responsibilities and Duties

• Responsible for assisting Activity Coordinator with planning, promotion, and facilitating/leading each event or program.
• Assess resident’s recreational and social needs.
• Support development of monthly Activity Calendar of Events.
• Lead small, large and one on one activity programs with seniors.
• Research and recommend to Coordinator entertainment/educational speakers/church representatives, etc.
• Support coordination of transportation needs to outside events/programs in accordance with established policies and procedures. Accompany residents on field trips as assigned.
• Work cooperatively with assigned volunteers and direct their assignments to support the resident programming.
• Maintain the STSW bus interior and exterior.
• Report maintenance needs in timely manner.
