Hayden Grove of St. Anthony in Saint Anthony, MN is seeking an energetic Activities Assistant for an interim position.

You will help plan and lead a variety of programs to meet residents' social, physical, and emotional needs in independent, assisted living, and memory care settings. The role requires at least one year of activities experience in senior care, a valid driver's license, and proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year activities experience in senior care or related settings.
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
• Class C license obtainable within 90 days of hire.
• Proficient in basic Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Creative in developing activity programs.
• Strong group leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Able to read, write, speak English and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Assist Activity Coordinator with planning, promotion, and leading events.
• Assess residents' recreational and social needs.
• Support development of monthly activity calendar.
• Lead small, large, and one-on-one activities with seniors.
• Research and coordinate entertainers, speakers, etc.
• Assist transportation needs and accompany residents on field trips.
• Coordinate with volunteers and manage assignments.
• Maintain bus interior/exterior and report maintenance needs.

Job Objective(s):

Responsible to assist Director of Life Enrichment in planning and leading a variety of activity programs designed to meet the resident's social, physical, mental, emotional, and sensory needs in an Independent, Assisted Living and Memory Care setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year activities experience in independent retirement, assisted living, adult day services or long-term care facility serving a senior population.
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
• Currently possess a Class C license, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to use basic Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) computer programs.
• Creativity in developing and planning activity programs.
• Group leadership and interpersonal skills to lead one on one, small, and large group activities.
• Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in a resident's best interest.

• Assess resident's recreational and social needs.
• Support development of monthly Activity Calendar of Events.
• Lead small, large and one on one activity programs with seniors.
• Research and recommend to Coordinator entertainment/educational speakers/church representatives, etc.
• Support coordination of transportation needs to outside events/programs in accordance with established policies and procedures. Accompany residents on field trips as assigned.
• Work cooperatively with assigned volunteers and direct their assignments to support the resident programming.
• Maintain the STSW bus interior and exterior.
• Report maintenance needs in timely manner.
