Job summary

Hayden Grove of St. Anthony in Saint Anthony, MN, is seeking an energetic Activities Assistant to join our Life Enrichment team on an interim basis.

The role supports planning and leading programs across independent, assisted living, and memory care settings to engage residents. You’ll assist with events, calendars, field trips, and coordinating transportation, while supervising volunteers and maintaining bus conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-year activities experience in retirement or senior care settings.
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
• Class C license or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to use basic Windows and MS Office programs.
• Creativity in developing and planning activity programs.
• Group leadership and interpersonal skills for varied group sizes.
• Reading, writing, basic math and English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, promotion, and facilitation of events or programs.
• Assess residents' recreational and social needs.
• Support development of monthly Activity Calendar of Events.
• Lead small, large and one-on-one activities with seniors.
• Research and recommend entertainment or speakers.
• Coordinate transportation to outside events per policy; accompany residents on field trips.
• Supervise volunteers and assign tasks to support programming.
• Maintain bus interior and exterior; report maintenance needs promptly.

Hayden Grove of St. Anthony is looking for an energetic, friendly Activities Assistant to join our team! This interim position is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting with seniors, creating engaging experiences, and bringing energy and positivity to our community.

Job Objective(s):

Responsible to assist Director of Life Enrichment in planning and leading a variety of activity programs designed to meet the resident’s social, physical, mental, emotional, and sensory needs in an Independent, Assisted Living and Memory Care setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year activities experience in independent retirement, assisted living, adult day services or long-term care facility serving a senior population.


• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.


• Currently possess a Class C license, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.


• Ability to use basic Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) computer programs.


• Creativity in developing and planning activity programs.


• Group leadership and interpersonal skills to lead one on one, small, and large group activities.


• Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in a resident’s best interest.


• Strong organizational skills

Job Responsibilities and Duties

• Responsible for assisting Activity Coordinator with planning, promotion, and facilitating/leading each event or program.


• Assess resident’s recreational and social needs.


• Support development of monthly Activity Calendar of Events.


• Lead small, large and one on one activity programs with seniors.


• Research and recommend to Coordinator entertainment/educational speakers/church representatives, etc.


• Support coordination of transportation needs to outside events/programs in accordance with established policies and procedures. Accompany residents on field trips as assigned.


• Work cooperatively with assigned volunteers and direct their assignments to support the resident programming.


• Maintain the STSW bus interior and exterior.


• Report maintenance needs in timely manner.
