Job summary

Hayden Grove of St. Anthony is seeking an energetic Activities Assistant to support the Life Enrichment team in planning and leading engaging programs for residents in Independent, Assisted Living and Memory Care settings.

This interim position focuses on connecting with seniors, promoting social engagement, and bringing energy and positivity to the community. Candidates should have 1+ year experience in activities and hold a valid Driver's License with a Class C license or ability to obtain it

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of activity experience in senior living or related care setting.
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
• Class C license or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to use basic Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Creativity in developing and planning activity programs.
• Group leadership and interpersonal skills for various group sizes.
• Read, write, spell and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Assist Activity Coordinator with planning, promotion, and leading each event or program.
• Assess residents' recreational and social needs.
• Support development of monthly Activity Calendar of Events.
• Lead small, large, and one-on-one activities with seniors.
• Research and propose speakers or representatives for events.
• Coordinate transportation for outside events in line with policies; accompany residents on field trips.
• Collaborate with volunteers and assign tasks to support programming.
• Maintain bus interior and exterior; report maintenance needs promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Objective(s):

Responsible to assist Director of Life Enrichment in planning and leading a variety of activity programs designed to meet the resident's social, physical, mental, emotional, and sensory needs in an Independent, Assisted Living and Memory Care setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year activities experience in independent retirement, assisted living, adult day services or long-term care facility serving a senior population.
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
• Currently possess a Class C license, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to use basic Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) computer programs.
• Creativity in developing and planning activity programs.
• Group leadership and interpersonal skills to lead one on one, small, and large group activities.
• Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in a resident's best interest.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

• Responsible for assisting Activity Coordinator with planning, promotion, and facilitating/leading each event or program.

• Assess resident's recreational and social needs.
• Support development of monthly Activity Calendar of Events.
• Lead small, large and one on one activity programs with seniors.

• Research and recommend to Coordinator entertainment/educational speakers/church representatives, etc.
• Support coordination of transportation needs to outside events/programs in accordance with established policies and procedures. Accompany residents on field trips as assigned.
• Work cooperatively with assigned volunteers and direct their assignments to support the resident programming.
• Maintain the STSW bus interior and exterior.
• Report maintenance needs in timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
