Job summary

Tenn State Veterans Homes Board is seeking an Activities Assistant/CNA to support residents from 10am to 6pm. You will help plan and run engaging activities that promote social interaction and well-being, working with the Activities Director to tailor programs to residents’ diverse needs.

The ideal candidate is a caring CNA with experience in activities, strong communication skills, and a passion for older adults in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant license required.
• Experience planning activities for residents preferred.
• Good communication with residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating activities for residents on-site and off-site.
• Collaborate with the Activities Director to build monthly calendars reflecting residents' needs and abilities.
• Lead group activities such as games, crafts, exercise, music, and outings.
• Provide individualized support to residents during activities as needed.

Pay Scale: $15.60 - $21.88

We are currently seeking an Activities Assistant/CNA working 10am to 6pm to join our team and assist in planning and organizing engaging activities for our residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with older adults and a creative mindset to develop stimulating activities that promote social interaction and enhance overall well-being. The Activities Assistant will work closely with the Activities Director to implement a variety of programs and events that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of our residents.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating a wide range of activities and events for residents, both on-site and off-site.
• Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop monthly activity calendars that reflect the needs, preferences, and abilities of our residents.
• Lead and facilitate group activities, such as games, arts and crafts, exercise classes, music sessions, and outings.
• Provide individualized support and assistance to residents who require additional help or accommodation during activities

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certified Nursing Assistant – active license is required.
• Previous experience with resident activities, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Must have good communication skills and the ability to interact well with others.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred and previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred.
