Job summary

Tenn State Veterans Homes Board is seeking an Activities Assistant CNA to help plan, implement, and evaluate resident activity programs. You will observe attendance, mood, and engagement, involve residents and families in planning, and support the Activity Director.

This full-time shift from 11am to 7pm requires prior activity experience in healthcare, strong communication, and a current Certified Nursing Assistant credential. A high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with activities, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Good communication skills and ability to interact well with others.
• Certified Nursing Assistant required.
• F Endorsement Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating activity programs.
• Observe and assess resident attendance, mood, behavior, and involvement.
• Involve residents and their families in the planning process.
• Interview residents or family members to obtain activity information.
• Participate in community planning related to facility interests and resident needs.
• Implement activity policies and procedures as directed by the Activity Director.
• Involve residents and their families in planning objectives and goals.
• Provide supervision for the volunteer program.
• Assist other staff as needed.
