Job summary

Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is seeking an Activities Assistant to join our recreation team. You will help plan, organize, and direct activities to support residents' physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

The role offers a 1pm-7pm schedule with every other weekend, and weekly pay of $16/hour. Responsibilities include coordinating events, building resident relationships, and reporting on progress to the therapeutic team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to make independent decisions.
• Knowledge of Privacy Rule and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and run events and activities programming.
• Build relationships with residents to tailor programming.
• Organize group and individual programming.
• Generate ideas for engaging activities.
• Encourage participation in activities.
• Assist with resident care goals within the therapeutic team.
• Document and report significant findings.

As an Activities Assistant, you will assist in planning, organizing, and directing recreational activities for our residents, ensuring their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being is maintained. Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and run events and activities programming

• Build relationships with residents to tailor programming to their interests and desires

• Organize group and individual programming

• Generate ideas for exciting and engaging activities

• Encourage residents to participate in activities that stimulate their potential

• Assist with establishing resident care goals within the framework of the therapeutic team

• Document and report any unusual or significant findings

• Report all reportable events immediately

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Ability to make independent decisions

• Knowledge of the Privacy Rule and ability to ensure compliance

• Patient, tactful, and cheerful disposition

• Ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition

• Participation in continuing education and inservice training
