Job summary

Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is seeking a dedicated Activities Assistant to join our recreation team. You will assist in planning, organizing, and directing activities that support residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. A rewarding role where you can make a difference in people’s lives.

The position offers a 1p-7p schedule, weekly pay at $16 per hour, and opportunities to tailor programs to residents’ interests within a supportive therapeutic team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to make independent decisions.
• Knowledge of the Privacy Rule and ability to ensure compliance.
• Patient, tactful, and cheerful disposition.
• Ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
• Participation in continuing education and inservice training.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and run events and activities programming.
• Build relationships with residents to tailor programming to their interests and desires.
• Organize group and individual programming.
• Generate ideas for exciting and engaging activities.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities that stimulate their potential.
• Assist with establishing resident care goals within the framework of the therapeutic team.
• Document and report any unusual or significant findings.
• Report all reportable events immediately.
