Job summary

Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is seeking a passionate Activities Assistant to join our recreation team in Worcester, MA. You will assist in planning, organizing, and directing recreational activities to support residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial well‑being.

We offer weekly pay at $16 per hour with a 1p-7p schedule and every other weekend. This role provides opportunities for growth, a supportive team, and a focus on meaningful, person-centered programming.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to make independent decisions.
• Knowledge of the Privacy Rule and ability to ensure compliance.
• Patient, tactful, and cheerful disposition.
• Ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
• Participation in continuing education and inservice training.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and run events and activities programming.
• Build relationships with residents to tailor programming to their interests and desires.
• Organize group and individual programming.
• Generate ideas for exciting and engaging activities.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities that stimulate their potential.
• Assist with establishing resident care goals within the framework of the therapeutic team.
• Document and report any unusual or significant findings.
• Report all reportable events immediately.
